Flames Last Regular Season Game

If you are a Calgary Flames fan, you need to see a home game. The intensity is insane, everyone wearing red and having a great time! This game was the last reg season meeting with the Edmonton Oilers, plus it was fan appreciation night so 20,000 people were given red clappers. You hear the guy next to me saying "Here they come, here they come..."

Craig Conroy for Calgary Mayor

As we watched the Flames warm up on Sat night, I noticed the fans draping jerseys and hats over the tunnel for players to sign as the left the ice. Iginla was the first off and just walked by everyone. More players did the same until Conroy. He stopped and signed all the items draped over. What a super guy... I did notice no ushers at the entrance to lower level. So it appears like people rush down there early, wait hoping to get something signed and then move to their proper seats. He played really well and took home second star of the game. This guy is 37 years old but is such a leader and great role model for younger players. Keep him in Calgary.

My Boy Dion Phaneuf

Again he is like a little poodle, when you get him, you know he will make lots of mistakes before he learns. I am predicting, Dion Phaneuf will be on the ice for 3 Wild goals. He is making mistakes that the play by play guys even comment, someone of his ability should not be making. He has used his feather duster a lot this year.
PART 2: Calgary Defeats Minnesota 3 :2
Dion Phaneuf was on the ice for the both (2) Wild goals. He was even for the game though but as of tonight he is -13. He did play better and I do realize he is on the ice for most of the PP goals but to make a serious run in the playoffs, he needs to fix some things. There was a great 'After Hours' show with Eric Nystrom after the game. They showed his 'Slap Shot striptease' bit from Quad City last year. Great stuff...

Kelly Hrudey-IP

Again, a couple of years ago, we attended a charity event in Warman. We went to a "autograph session" at 4:00 to find out the event was canceled. I was not sure if I would get anything we went back to a friend's house to wait until 5:00. Sure enough, Hrudey came walking up the walk and we approached for a couple of autographs. Someone must have told him we were waiting, he was very accommodating for someone else's screw up. He introduced himself to us and signed my Islander and Kings jersey personalizing itI had a Silvertip Golf Course Polo Shirt on and he asked if I had played that. I said we were just at the Telus Skins game out there and played Silvertip the next day. We then starting talking about golf out in the Banff Alberta area for about 10 mins. My wife and her friend were kinda shocked, he was so nice. He asked if we were going to the dinner tonight and we had to apologize; we were in the process of building a garage. Super nice guy!
